Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and follow strict confidentiality as customer privacy is our biggest tenet.
  • Work with a range of data types including text, speech, image, and video.
  • Deliver high-quality labeled data, following provided guidelines to meet our KPIs using in-house tools and software.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for ML data workflows, researching and producing factually and grammatically correct responses, ranking responses, and annotating text, speech, image, and video.
  • Make logical decisions while performing tasks even when information is ambiguous.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to pivot between different requirement categories instantly.
  • Support daily operational deliverables such as AHT, quality, and TAT for multiple task types assigned to you and the team.
  • Demonstrate expertise in end-to-end data execution processes related to labeling tasks with minimal reliance on work instructions.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis, identify error patterns, and propose solutions to improve labeling quality.
  • Identify day-to-day process and operational issues in SOPs and tools, and suggest changes to unblock operations.
  • Provide floor support to clarify internal queries during execution as needed.

A day in the life

We are seeking an ML Data Associate (MLDA) to undertake foundational labeling tasks, such as dialogue evaluation on speech, text, audio, and video data, to assess and improve Alexa’s performance in everyday situations. Your concentration, ability to multi-task, and high attention to detail will help you deliver high-quality work while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to Amazon policies for protecting confidential information. You will join a diverse team with a shared vision to advance technology and the use of Artificial Intelligence. An inner drive, individuality, and a creative mindset are highly beneficial.

About the team

The team works in the office Monday through Friday with an eight-hour shift. We are continually seeking ways to improve capabilities and deliver the best product possible. You can expect a diverse team, regular meetings, trainings, and Amazon events throughout the year.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in natural language data labeling, data annotation, linguistic annotation, or other forms of data markup.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, writing, and reading).
  • Fluency in Portuguese (speaking, writing, and reading).
  • C1+ or equivalent proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese.
  • C1+ or equivalent proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience with demonstrated task execution ability.
  • Proven ability to leverage open-source resources effectively for comprehensive research.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Proven project coordination or management experience (for support functions teams).
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships across departments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications.
