## Equity Derivatives

Short overview on the Team

The Equities - Derivatives Unit is one of four operating segments under SGX Group, alongside Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities; Equities - Cash; and Platforms and Others. The Unit grows exchange-listed financial derivatives contracts revenue, liquidity, and market share, and pursues opportunities to develop new revenue streams. It is the revenue owner of SGX's flagship equity index derivatives business, including products such as Nikkei 225, Nifty 50, FTSE China A50, FTSE Taiwan, and MSCI Singapore futures. The portfolio also includes products being groomed for flagship status, such as FTSE China H50, FTSE Blossom Japan, and the MSCI Climate Action suite. Collectively, Equity - Derivatives contributed 27% of FY2024 revenue.

## What the Intern Can Learn

  
- Gain understanding of market structure and mechanics of SGX’s equity derivatives suite, including business drivers and requirements.
  
- Work alongside market professionals and support the product management function.
  
- Acquire hands-on experience in supporting the launch of new products during the internship period, where applicable.

## Job Description

  
- Perform market sizing, trend analysis, and competitive research by collating data from public sources and data services (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
  
- Create, maintain, and distribute internal management reports and presentations on product volumes, market share, profitability, and client activity.
  
- Generate in-depth product-specific market research and marketing materials to educate sophisticated customers and drive trading activity.
  
- Assist in launching new listed equity derivatives products across the entire exchange value chain (business development, legal, compliance, regulatory, operations, technology, etc.).

## Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  
- Knowledge of macroeconomics, financial markets, and derivative instruments.
  
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication in English.
  
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  
- Extremely detail-oriented and comfortable working with large data sets.
  
- Experience in data analytics is advantageous; knowledge of VBA preferred, and Python/SQL is beneficial.
