Note: Leave of Absence (LOA) may be required to take on the internship. ## Business Operations Roles ### Securities Business Operations ### Derivatives Business Operations ## Brief Overview The Securities Business Operations team consists of five functions that work in tandem to keep the heart of the Singapore Securities market beating. When you join the team, you’ll gain exposure to the full spectrum of activities across the operations value chain. ## Learning Objectives The selected intern will undergo a structured internship program under the guidance of experienced mentors, covering the Securities market. You will learn about the Securities business through our products and processes, with hands-on experience using the systems and tools to keep the Singapore Securities market vibrant. ## Job Description As an intern in the operations team, you will gain comprehensive exposure to the full lifecycle of the Securities capital market operations. You will also have the opportunity to leverage advanced AI tools to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation. These are the five functions within the operations team, and the skills you can gain from involvement in each step: - Facilitating the Initial Public Offering (IPO) process — Oversee the end-to-end flow of new IPOs and understand how various teams collaborate to facilitate new listings on SGX. - Transferring and Creation of Securities Assets — Familiarize yourself with the bond-issuance process and the creation and transfer of products like ETFs, Singapore Government Securities, and T-Bills. Ensure records are properly documented so products are available for trading. - Listing of Tickers on the Exchange — Learn how to interact with stock issuers, gather relevant information, and ensure products are listed accurately and timely. Maintain market orderly and trader satisfaction in the Singapore market. - Clearing and Settlement — Operate the Post Trade System, the central system that processes a substantial flow of stocks and cash daily. Ensure assets are delivered to the right parties at the right time. - Handling Corporate Action Events — Experience handling corporate actions such as dividends and rights issues for listed companies, ensuring shareholders’ accounts are updated accurately and timely. Engage with financial advisors and legal professionals to ensure smooth execution. - Protecting the Exchange against bad actors — Gain insight into Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) assessments.
