Position

Associate I - Client Relations

William Blair Private Wealth Management is seeking an Associate I - Client Relations to provide professional client service, respond to client inquiries and requests, and learn to perform tasks under guidance from higher-level team members. The role involves reviewing client documentation for completeness and regulatory compliance, applying understanding of firm products, policies, systems, and current market conditions to support Wealth Advisor teams, and providing basic operational support with moderate supervision.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Understand processes and procedures required for client account activity with guidance from senior team members.
  • Review and respond to client inquiries and service requests with a focus on onboarding, cash management, account billing, trading (where required), and operational requests.
  • Identify and communicate issues or potential problems that may require escalation.
  • Review client account documentation to ensure all required materials are collected and updated.
  • Regularly update the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system and assist with maintaining client investment profile information.
  • Develop an understanding of clients’ needs and preferences, current market conditions, and regulatory requirements; be responsive to changes in the business and compliance environment.
  • Build internal and external relationships to enhance the client experience and leverage resources to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Assist in preparing performance reports and review client information as needed.
  • Attend client and prospect meetings as part of the Advisor support team when appropriate.
  • Proactively contribute ideas and relationships to facilitate new and incremental business.
  • Support Business Managers, Investment Associates, and Wealth Advisors; participate in additional projects as requested.
  • Facilitate general administrative tasks as requested, including meeting setup and travel arrangements.
  • Ensure activities comply with risk controls and applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Engage in available training and education programs to stay current on policies, procedures, and risk awareness.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 year of experience required; financial services industry experience preferred.
  • SIE Exam, Series 7, and Series 63/65 (or 66) within 150 days of employment.
  • Client service orientation.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills; ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge of applicable compliance/security industry rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Salary & Benefits

A reasonable base salary range is provided below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. The actual base salary within the range depends on factors including skills, experience, degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations, and location.

This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit, and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
