## Role Overview

The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison integral to delivering TD’s Brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist customers with their banking solutions/needs. This role contributes to achieving business objectives by identifying appropriate TD solutions that help customers reach their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD.

### Depth & Scope

  
- Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to educate customers on TD offerings or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal partners, while ensuring a positive customer experience.
  
- Broad knowledge of the full product suite, services and processes; low to moderate complexity/risk.
  
- Establishes and nurtures customer relationships by demonstrating product knowledge, actively listening to needs, and offering solutions or partner referrals.
  
- Makes product recommendations based on customer needs and highlights features/benefits that support customers through life events, save time and money, and exceed their expectations.
  
- Uses customer relationship management tools to participate in customer assessments and lead-focused outbound activities.
  
- Independently resolves customer issues and escalates when necessary.
  
- Builds working relationships with customers and explains detailed or complex information.
  
- Requires full proficiency gained through job-related training to perform a range of activities.
  
- Participates in customer outreach, servicing and advisory activities to deliver on TD’s promise.
  
- Engages in conversations about loan products and facilitates the application intake.
  
- Must maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).

## Education & Experience

  
- HS Diploma or GED
  
- 1+ years of experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience (preferred).
  
- Teller experience (preferred)
  
- Must be able to complete teller training upon hire to process customer transactions
  
- Demonstrated ability to engage customers while educating them on products and services (preferred)
  
- Strong organizational skills for handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  
- Excellent communication skills: concise, clear, and consistent
  
- Ability to schedule and prioritize work
  
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  
- Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
  
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
  
- Notary License (Preferred)

## Customer Accountabilities

  
- Deliver Legendary customer experience through relationship-building, service and advice
  
- Understand and support the Bank's Customer Service Strategy; provide end-to-end advisory support and proactive insights
  
- Advocate for customers with proactive tips and recommendations to improve financial confidence
  
- Demonstrate the behaviors to deliver a Legendary customer experience that is unexpectedly human
  
- Lead lobby activities by guiding customers and identifying needs
  
- Educate customers on self-service options that meet their needs
  
- May act as a point of escalation for customer questions or concerns
  
- May perform teller transactions (cash handling, deposits, transfers, withdrawals) while monitoring fraud and adhering to policies
  
- Consider the impact of decisions on TD, customers and stakeholders
  
- Act as a brand champion internally and externally
  
- Educate clients on self-service channels including digital options
  
- Personalize interactions and bring your genuine self to each banking transaction

- Participate in daily store operations to align with TD's risk framework

- Ensure documentation reflects client intentions and complies with rules/regulations

## OCC Language

  
- This position falls within the definition of Loan Originator under Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act and the definition of Mortgage Loan Originator under the SAFE Act.
  
- Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under Regulation Z.
  
- Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS under the SAFE Act.
  
- Requires satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report check, and disclosure of any findings as required by federal law.
