Position

As a Probe Manufacturing Shift Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will lead a team of shift equipment technicians to meet equipment schedules, production standards, and operational costs, ensuring department goals are achieved. You will set clear expectations, provide continual performance feedback, and outline improvement plans for your team. You will foster teamwork, trust, and employee engagement, recognize and reward outstanding performance, and ensure necessary training is conducted to achieve site objectives. You will establish clear and strong lines of communication with peers, customers, eventual reports, and management in a professional manner. You will oversee the day-to-day performance of a work unit that performs complex tasks and collaborate with management, engineering, production, and training personnel to meet company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage shift technicians and contractors to achieve operational objectives.
  • Identify and highlight issues on the line that block the team from meeting targets and objectives.
  • Ensure adequate training and adherence to SOPs to eliminate safety and quality risks.
  • Analyze data and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Maintain close communication and collaboration with production and process stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Establish and review SOPs to ensure they remain relevant and optimized for operation processes.
  • Explore and develop agentic AI approaches to improve productivity and protect quality.
  • Evaluate, promote, and plan for new equipment and materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics, Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering or equivalent.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience via academic projects, internships, or extracurricular activities, with the ability to build and develop an effective team.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven problem-solving abilities and knowledge of methods such as 8D, 5 Why, PCI, and Poka-Yoke to deliver effective solutions.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with personal initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience: Demonstrated PROBE internship experience within a semiconductor company is preferred.
  • Project Experience: Experience working on projects aligned with the duties of this position.
  • Industry Interest: Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry; knowledge of Micron is a plus.
  • AI & Analytics Interest: Understanding or interest in AI applications in semiconductor manufacturing (predictive analytics, automated defect classification, data visualization) is preferred.
