Job Description

This position will oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving and storing goods, issuing to production, reverse logistics tasks, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods, and supervising staff. It will oversee operations at a warehouse or storage facility to ensure that all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed according to schedule. The role includes managing 3PL performance, resolving logistical challenges by communicating with production and transportation providers, and buyers/planners. Tasks include managing an in-house 3PL team to support supply to production; vice-versa. Rearranging flows of materials for improved efficiency while allowing Warehouse Workers to easily navigate between aisles.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Overseeing receiving and dispatching procedures for shipments
  • Assigning workloads and daily tasks to Warehouse Associates
  • Communicating with production, buyers, and planners to answer work order flow questions and troubleshoot problems
  • Monitoring inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy
  • Ensuring inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained
  • Monitoring Warehouse Associates to ensure safety procedures are followed when operating forklifts and other machinery
  • Monitoring warehouse management systems to supervise the flow of inventory and adjust to meet delivery deadlines
  • Manage transport companies and 3PL
  • Ensuring that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met
  • Administer inventories control, cycle counts
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Manage inventory following established guidelines and procedures, including labeling and locating parts, picking parts from appropriate locations, and recording and communicating inventory levels
  • Help productions, planners, and buyers resolve shipment issues and complaints as they arise
  • Practice problem solving and troubleshooting as part of a team responsible for continuous improvement to products and processes
  • Undertake any other ad hoc duties assigned by a supervisor

Qualifications

  • Degree in Logistics Management
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to set goals, motivate, and manage conflict
  • Strong project management skills, including decision-making, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills
  • In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for the warehouse
  • Familiarity with inventory control practices and logistics
  • Team player with the ability to multi-task and organize work systematically
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing and demanding environment

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 1 year of relevant work experience.
