Markets Analyst Intern, Cross Asset

Position

Garda is looking to hire an Intern to join the Cross Asset Group in New York for Summer 2026. The candidate will be supporting portfolio managers and helping implement solutions for our trading and risk systems. During the internship, you will be exposed to the Credit, MBS, and Rates trading through projects and training sessions. You will work closely with mentors who will provide guidance and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Shadow the Cross Asset Group to learn the basics of markets such as credit bonds, ETFs, options, TBAs, specified pools, mortgage derivatives, bonds, and interest rate derivatives
• Use quantitative analysis to identify potential trading opportunities and assess the risk of existing strategies
• Support the team’s research process, including data collection and analysis, prototyping, backtesting, and performance monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a quantitative, analytical, or technical field
• Quantitative and programming skills (Python and SQL)
• Knowledge and interest in financial markets
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Intellectual curiosity and motivation to innovate and improve

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with AI, including practical application of machine learning techniques
• Prior experience in bonds, credit, or mortgages

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education.

Hourly compensation for this role is expected to be between:

$45 — $50 USD
