## Role details

## Position Overview

We are looking to hire recent graduates to join our Discretionary Trading team. As a Junior Discretionary Trader, you will work alongside senior discretionary traders who will provide on-the-desk training and mentorship. Your goal will be to help maintain target portfolio positions by assisting the senior traders with daily portfolio monitoring, maintenance, and hedging. Our discretionary traders collaborate with quantitative researchers to leverage our research platform and improve both discretionary and systematic strategies. You will develop a broad range of skills including fundamental and macro analysis, research, portfolio construction, risk management, and execution. We currently run discretionary strategies in Equities, Commodities, Rates/FX, and Credit, including volatility trading across asset classes. ## Responsibilities

  
- Collaborate with senior traders and quantitative researchers to structure and evaluate new trading opportunities
  
- Generate PnL tracking and attribution reports based on trade ideas
  
- Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to generate risk reports
  
- Hedge books and allocate hedges appropriately
  
- Execute large or complex trades that cannot be automated due to complexity or liquidity constraints

## Required Qualifications

  
- Recent or soon-to-be graduate with relevant coursework, internship, or other applicable experience or knowledge
  
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or related field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Finance
  
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with teammates globally
  
- Strong sense of urgency and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  
- Programming skills essential, with at least one major programming or scripting language; strong preference for Python

## Compensation & Benefits

The minimum base salary for this role is $150,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on information available at the time of posting. The role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. It may also be eligible for benefits such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions. Successful candidates’ compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
