Strategy and Product Specialist

About the Position

Strategy Partners (SPs) are versatile generalists who take a deeply analytical and strategic approach to solving Jane Street’s most pressing problems. They move across groups as firm priorities evolve, developing a holistic view of the business and driving cross-functional growth.

Most SP careers begin with a year-long rotation program covering all areas of Jane Street’s business, including trading, technology, finance, compliance, and operations. These rotations help new SPs develop a broad skill set, strong cross-group connections, and a detailed understanding of how all parts of the business fit together.

This foundation prepares SPs to take ownership of strategic efforts within their teams and in cross-functional initiatives. Although the rotational year concludes with a permanent group placement, SPs often change teams throughout their careers as their interests and the firm’s priorities evolve. This flexibility allows successful SPs to play an increasingly central role in shaping the business.

About You

We do not require a background in finance or any specific field. We seek smart individuals who enjoy solving interesting problems. You should be:

• A professional with a track record of success in challenging, rigorous environments
• Skilled at taking a structured and detailed approach to problem-solving, communicating effectively, driving projects forward, and demonstrating exceptional attention to detail
• Excited to learn about a wide range of disciplines, including global market dynamics, technical systems and tooling, and operational infrastructure
• Eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, and continuously deepen your understanding
