what3words' three-word grid addressing system has moved from a consumer mapping product into infrastructure that a national postal service, UK emergency responders, and a major carmaker now rely on:

• Mongolia's national postal service, Mongol Post, built the three-word address system into its operations in 2016, and government adoption has since expanded to other services, including passport delivery and emergency police calls through the country's e-Mongolia app (what3words, World Economic Forum).
• As of 8 May 2024, 103 UK emergency services had confirmed they accept three-word addresses from 999 and non-emergency callers to locate a caller to within three metres (what3words, Ask the Police).
• Mercedes-Benz was the first carmaker to integrate what3words, building it into the MBUX voice-controlled infotainment system on the 2018 A-Class (what3words, MercedesBlog).
