The Information Lab's flagship early-career route is the Data School, a fixed-term consultant program built around one structure across locations:

• Structure: 4 months of paid training in Tableau and Alteryx, leading to certification in both, followed by four separate 6-month placements with client companies; 28 months end to end in the UK
• Locations: cohorts run in London and Hamburg, with separate New York and Australia ("Data School Down Under") tracks

A candidate who joins is committing to a program that runs well over two years end to end, made up of four distinct client placements rather than one continuous role, closer in shape to a rotational graduate scheme than a single internship.

The Data School recruits on a rolling basis rather than a single annual cycle: in the UK it typically takes on up to 8 people every 2 months, roughly six cohorts a year, filling each cohort first-come, first-served. Applicants name a preferred cohort on the application form; if that cohort fills, a later one is offered instead.

Because places go to whoever applies earliest within a cohort rather than to everyone who beats a fixed deadline, this calendar rewards moving first, which matters most for a candidate weighing it against other firms that hold applications open until one set date.
