Stability AI is the company that funded and released Stable Diffusion on 22 August 2022 — the open-weights text-to-image model that, per independent technical coverage, ran on consumer GPUs with as little as 2.4 GB of VRAM and was published with weights and code in the open rather than gated behind a closed API. The product line stays inside creative media — image, video, audio, 3D — rather than the general-purpose chat assistants of the OpenAI/Anthropic/Google labs that early-career candidates often compare it against. In June 2024 the firm refreshed its leadership: Sean Parker became Executive Chairman and Prem Akkaraju (ex-Weta Digital) joined as CEO, and the open-roles board currently lists about a dozen positions across research, technical, and revenue. The small scale means broader scope per role than a large lab would offer at the same level, but there is no structured graduate cohort or fixed application window — entries happen through individual openings on the Greenhouse board as roles are posted.
