Shield AI runs two paid, full-time, on-site early-career programs in the United States.

• Summer Internship Program: a ten-week summer internship for undergraduate, Master's, or PhD students with one semester to one year of study left after the internship. Remote work is not offered, and the full ten weeks must be completed without leave. Hiring spans software, mechanical, electrical, propulsion, and program planning engineering as well as strategy and operations, per the firm's open intern listings.
• Spring Co-op: a multi-month paid co-op spanning the academic year, with a January ideal start and a flexible end date, hiring rising graduates into X-BAT engineering teams in Dallas, San Diego, and Boston.

Each program is a continuous in-person block at a single US site, with no remote option and no leave granted during the run. A candidate weighing both routes is committing to two distinct full-time, on-site stints inside the same academic year, which works only when the academic calendar clears for each in full.
