SEI runs four separate client-facing businesses – asset managers, banks and wealth managers, financial advisors, and institutional investors – and as of 31 December 2025 manages, advises, or administers roughly $1.9 trillion in assets across them, with a further $8.1 trillion on its wealth management platforms. The firm has operated continuously since 1968 (confirmed independently on Wikipedia) and now employs almost 5,000 people across nine global offices. Because the four business lines serve different clients on different technology, which one an early-career hire lands in shapes the actual day-to-day work more than the SEI name does, and is worth confirming before applying rather than after.
