The 2025 class placed 27 students, 24 undergraduates and 3 graduate students, from 26 colleges and universities, working standard business hours for a paid hourly wage with benefits. Structured programming runs departmental workshops, portfolio property tours, and a capstone project through the 10 weeks.

Because RXR fills one cohort across many departments rather than recruiting separate tracks in parallel, the department a candidate applies to is fixed for the summer rather than assigned after arrival, so naming a specific function at application counts more than it would at a firm that rotates interns across teams.

It has also expanded past its legacy New York portfolio into Sunbelt growth markets, including Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Raleigh, and Tampa, a shift Multi-Housing News has covered as the firm breaks ground on new development outside its home market.

For an early-career applicant, that structure means a single-function placement, in construction or property operations, say, still sits inside one platform running the same assets end to end, giving more exposure to adjacent functions than a firm confined to one stage of the real estate lifecycle.
