On 13 January 2026 it signed definitive agreements to acquire Coinme and Sequence, a deal reported at over $250 million, adding Coinme's money-transmitter licenses across 48 U.S. states and Sequence's wallet infrastructure across 50+ chains to what the firm calls its "Open Money Stack." On 29 April 2026, when Visa added Polygon to its stablecoin settlement program, Polygon disclosed that it already carried 34% of all USD stablecoin transfers - more than double the next chain - and 54% of USDC transfers, more than every other chain combined.
