What sets LiveKit apart
LiveKit closed a $100 million Series C led by Index Ventures on 22 January 2026, reaching a $1 billion valuation about ten months after its prior round.
Its real-time infrastructure runs OpenAI's ChatGPT Voice Mode and Salesforce's Agentforce voice agents, a customer set confirmed independently of LiveKit's own announcement. The core stack is also open source: the livekit/livekit repository carries over 20,100 GitHub stars, so a candidate can read the production code and open issues before applying. Set against peer infrastructure startups at a similar stage, a funding pace and customer roster this concentrated in one technology wave is a concrete basis for prioritizing among a limited number of applications.
