CCI runs three named campus programs for students and recent graduates:

• Commodities Trading Analyst Program – two-year rotational program with a ten-week summer internship feeder; physical and financial trading exposure across power, natural gas and oil. Offered in London (Europe) and Houston and Stamford (US).
• Merchant Operations & Finance Leadership Program – two-year program of four six-month rotations across physical operations, settlements, P&L, FP&A, corporate accounting, credit, tax and treasury; a ten-week US summer internship runs a shortened version of one or two rotations. Offered in Houston and Stamford.
• Data Science & Technology Internship – tracks in Software Engineering, Machine Learning, GenAI and Data Engineering, working alongside front-office teams. Offered in London (Europe) and Houston, Stamford and New York City (US).

The three sit on different parts of the floor: trading, finance and operations, technology. A candidate aiming at the trading desks and one aiming at finance and ops are preparing distinct applications, in distinct geos, with different academic profiles, so program choice is also a location and skills-track choice rather than a single firm-level application.

CCI's students FAQ sets sponsorship by geo and program type:

• US (intern or full-time): candidates requiring sponsorship must be eligible for STEM OPT (36 months of OPT).
• UK summer internship: candidates requiring sponsorship must be students attending a UK school and eligible for a student visa to work over the summer.
• UK full-time graduate: CCI sponsors Skilled Worker visas.

This narrows the US-side opening considerably: a non-STEM degree without OPT eligibility is not the firm's pathway, and a UK summer internship is restricted to candidates already studying at a UK institution. For non-UK candidates, the Skilled Worker route via the UK graduate scheme is the meaningful sponsorship channel.

The current ownership structure dates to a 2012 management-led buyout of Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy led by Glenn Dubin, with Paul Tudor Jones and Continental Grain as co-investors, after which the firm was renamed CCI (Wikipedia). In 2015 CCI acquired Morgan Stanley's Global Oil Merchanting business – handling roughly two million barrels a day of physical oil flow – which materially expanded its oil franchise relative to peer independents. For an applicant choosing between a bank's commodities desk and an independent merchant, CCI's distinguishing feature is the integrated physical-and-financial book in oil, gas and power, rather than the broader product mix or balance-sheet of a bulge-bracket bank: the early-career programs feed directly into desks that own physical positions, not just derivative ones.
