Arista Networks recruits interns and new college graduates into two engineering tracks, published on its university careers page: a Software Engineering Internship offered in Santa Clara (CA), Austin, Vancouver, Nashua, Dublin and Bangalore, and a Hardware Engineering Internship offered in Santa Clara only. Both target 3rd- or 4th-year Computer Science / Engineering students and are part- or full-time, with conversion to an ongoing graduate role available to strong performers at the end of studies. • Branded market leadership in 800GbE: Crehan Research, quoted in the October 2025 announcement, places Arista first in branded market share for both 800GbE and overall data-centre Ethernet switching, with 800GbE port shipments more than tripling sequentially in Q2 2025.
• Single-engineer printed-circuit-board ownership in hardware: each PCB design is the work of one engineer, from spec creation through schematic capture, layout, bring-up and manufacturing support; interns are routinely tasked with test-board designs that go into manufacturing lines.
• Twice-yearly "Hack-a-Switches" hackathons and an internal test fabric running over 20,000 automated tests per day, both stated on the firm's own university page.

The university page also states intern code "will end up in customers' hands"; scope per head is therefore high — a hardware intern ships a board, a software intern's code lands in production — but the product domain is narrower than at a full-stack hyperscaler, so the engineering depth is in networking and high-speed signalling rather than full-stack web infrastructure.
