APRIL Group's early-career pipeline centres on the APRIL Sustainability Professional Readiness Program (ASPiRE), an 18-month accelerated development track that has run since at least 2023, per The Jakarta Post. It is open to candidates holding a recent Master's degree from an internationally recognised university, and places trainees across three sustainability work streams inside APRIL's Riau operations – spanning forestry, R&D, peatland science, community development, compliance and stakeholder engagement – each paired with a senior APRIL manager as mentor.

Because ASPiRE requires a Master's degree and prior work experience, it functions as a postgraduate hiring track rather than a first internship: undergraduates and first-time applicants sit outside its eligibility bar, and the realistic candidate is already at least one placement or role into their career.

Entry-level hires join a single, vertically integrated pulp and paper operation in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau, rather than a distributed office network:

• The mill is capable of producing up to 4 million tonnes of pulp and 1.15 million tonnes of paper a year, among the largest single-site pulp mills in the world.
• APRIL protects and restores one hectare of natural forest for every hectare of plantation it manages; its Restorasi Ekosistem Riau programme alone covers more than 150,000 hectares of the Kampar Peninsula, backed by a $100 million, ten-year commitment announced at COP21 in 2015.
• The APRIL Learning Institute, running since 2005, is Indonesia's largest employee training centre dedicated to the pulp and paper industry, building a structured individual development plan for every employee.

For a graduate or intern, this means career development runs through one site and its own training infrastructure rather than through rotations across offices: relocating to Pangkalan Kerinci is part of taking the job, not an occasional trip.
