Summer internships typically run 12 to 14 weeks, while spring and fall co-ops carry longer assignments of 6 to 12 months, and ADI offers eligible interns relocation, housing and transportation assistance. ADI says it hires more than 500 interns a year and converts over 60% of them to full-time employees after graduation, with intern projects pitched at real analog and mixed-signal IC design work rather than support tasks. Two consequences follow: the internship is the main hiring funnel here, so landing one matters more than a cold graduate application, and the choice between a 12-to-14-week summer slot and a 6-to-12-month co-op is really a choice about how much term time you can give, since the co-op displaces an academic semester or more.

It built much of that scale through two of the biggest deals in analog semiconductors – the $14.8 billion acquisition of Linear Technology in 2017 and the $21 billion acquisition of Maxim Integrated in 2021, which ADI describes as creating the premier high-performance analog company – concentrating an unusually broad analog, power and data-converter portfolio under one roof. ADI also tells students that because most of its products are designed by individual engineers, an intern won't get lost as a small part of a huge project team. For an early-career engineer set specifically on analog or mixed-signal design, that individual-ownership model points to deeper end-to-end design responsibility than a large shared-team structure offers, which is the main reason to prioritise ADI over a broader-portfolio employer.
